Tips to Fix a Broken Nail.

I am a complete and utter hacker.

You think you know… But you have no idea.

This results in a lot of broken nails for me. Since sometimes I really don’t want to cut my nails as short as the broken one I have learned how to fix my nails with various things.

But they all prep the same way, you buff your nail with a rougher nail file, and then use a drop of nail glue. After this there are variety of ways you can fix it. But you absolutely need a file and nail glue (super glue also works in a pinch)

You can use nail filling powder, a tea bag or toilet paper (right? kind of ghetto).

To do it this way you shake the powder over the still wet nail glue and then wait for it to dry a little, then put another drop of nail glue over it. Once dry you buff it so it’s not super thick.

Another method that I have used is a tea bag. Yes a tea bag. You cut a tiny bit off of the tea bag, just enough to cover the break in your nail. Apply it to your nail when it’s still wet. Then add another drop of glue just like you would with the filling powder. You will also want to buff the nail once dry.

Tea bags are good to use because the fiber is similar to silk wraps.

And my most ghetto trick of all… Toilet paper. You will want to separate the toilet paper so you only have one ply and then rip a teeny tiny piece off to cover the break, and basically do the same thing you would with the nail filler and tea bags.

I’ve only used toilet paper in a pinch. It did the job, but doesn’t dry clear like the powder or tea bags.

You will then want to apply 2 coats of base coat to the broken nail, and then you can paint as normal.
